Faith Montessori will provide care for children 18 months through six years of age.

The center is open for full day care Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Half day program is from 8:00am- 1:00pm.

We are not set up for early arrivals or late pickups. Therefore, we ask that you not arrive at the center prior to 7:00 AM.

Parents of children who are not picked up by 6:00 PM will be charged an additional $1.00 for every minute of delay, which should be paid at the time of pickup. This cost helps cover the overtime costs paid to our teacher.

There is no reduction in tuition for school holiday closings as these closures were factored into your monthly fees. Should the school need to close for any other days than those listed above, you will be provided with advance notice, if possible, and a reduction in fees will be given. We cannot be held responsible for closures due to events beyond our control.

The Montessori philosophy was developed in Italy by Dr. Maria Montessori beginning in the early 20th century. As a physician. her clinical practice included observations of children which led her to analyze how children learn. She concluded that children build themselves from what they find in their environment.

Her desire to help children was so strong that, in 1905, she gave up her medical practice to work with a group of children of working parents in Rome. It was there she founded the first Casa Dei Bambibi, or "Children's House." What ultimately became known as the Montessori Method of Education centered around children teaching themselves.

The Montessori philosophy includes specially designed, manipulative materials for development that invite children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice. Under the guidance of a trained teacher, children in a Montessori classroom learn by making discoveries with the materials, cultivating concentration, motivation, self-discipline and a love of learning.

Dr. Maria Montessori believed that the younger children were intensely attracted to sensory development and activities that stimulated their five senses. She developed her method of teaching younger children based on the spontaneous activity of each child, and the level of interest the child takes in the materials.

The materials must be meticulously in order, beautiful and shiny, and in perfect condition. This stimulates the child's cognitive development by always appearing new and ready for use. Her technique, called "The Prepared Environment," supports the child in developing physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally.
